In the novel Hercule Poirot's Christmas, Ebenezer Farr was the former business partner of Simeon Lee. They worked together in Kimberly, South Africa, about forty years before the events of the novel.

Ebenezer told his son, Stephen, that if he ever went to England, he should look up Simeon Lee. Stephen had said that Simeon probably would not remember, as it was such a long time ago. However, Ebenezer said that when two men had been through what Simeon and he had, they would not forget.

Ebenezer died a few years before the events of the novel.

It is later revealed that Ebenezer Farr's only son had died two years before the events of the novel, and the person claiming to be his son Stephen actually turned out to be the illegitimate son of Simeon.
