In the novel Five Little Pigs, Dr Andrew Faussett is the physician who declared Amyas Crale dead. After Amyas was found, Caroline Crale sent Miss Williams to call for a doctor. Dr Faussett arrived fifteen minutes later. After examining the body he called Inspector Conway.

Dr Faussett was well acquainted with Amyas' state of health, and knew that there was no disease or weakness of any kind, and so he took a grave view of Amyas' sudden death. When Philip Blake told him about some coniine that was missing from Meredith Blake's laboratory, Dr Faussett called Inspector Conway, believing that it was a case for the police.
