In the novel The A.B.C. Murders, Dick Willows is a friend of Franz Ascher. He is one of the men whom Franz claimed was with him, first at the "Seven Stars" and then at the "Red Dog" (pubs) during the time Alice Ascher was murdered. Franz insists these friends of his can give him an alibi.
