In Le Crime est notre affaire the 2008 French adaptation by Pascal Thomas of 4.50 from Paddington, Diane Charpentier is the parallel of Alice Crackenthorpe in the original novel. She is the wife of banker Raphaël Charpentier. Diane is portrayed by Florence Maury.
Diane has a smaller role in this adaptation than in the original novel. Not much is revealed about her background except that she dislikes winters in France and so spends the season travelling. She is therefore not with her husband when he visits his father Roderick Charpentier at "La vallée des loups" (the Rutherford Hall equivalent) for Christmas. Diane only appears towards the end of the story. She has just come back from New York and Raphaël had just arrived home after spending Christmas in La vallée des loups.
