Detective-Constable McCrae

In the novel Hickory Dickory Dock, Detective-Constable McCrae is a police officer who assists Sergeant Cobb during a raid on "Sabrina Fair", a beauty saloon co-owned by Valerie Hobhouse. McCrae was "by nature both gloomy and disapproving" and he considered the raid a mare's nest. However Cobb persisted and found a large number of false passports which Valerie had been using.
