Death on the Nile is a film that is set to be released in 2022. It will be directed by Kenneth Branagh with screenplay by Michael Green. It is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on February, 2022, by 20th Century Studios. It is based of the novel by Agatha Christie.

Comparison with original novel

  • Several characters have been omitted, and a few new characters have been added to the film. The backstories of many of the characters from the novel have been changed. The backstories of some omitted characters have been given to other characters.
    • Dr Windlesham shares name with Charles Windlesham, who is a suitor of Linnet in the novel. Like Carl Bessner, Dr Windlesham is the only physician onboard the boat. Both Dr Windlesham and Mr Ferguson, in the novel, refuses to use their courtesy title.

  • Tom Bateman as Bouc, Poirot's friend & nephew of owner of the Orient Express.
  • Annette Bening as Euphemia Bouc, Bouc's mother & a painter. She was created solely for the film
  • Russell Brand as Dr Windlesham, a physician.
  • Ali Fazal as Andrew Katchadourian
  • Dawn French as Bowers is the nurse of Marie Van Schuyler. She travels with her employer onboard a Nile steamer.
  • Gal Gadot as Linnet Ridgeway-Doyle, Jacqueline's former friend & Simon's wife. She's very selfish & self-centered.
  • Armie Hammer as Simon Doyle, Jacqueline's former fiancé who dumped her for Linnet.
  • Rose Leslie as Louise Bourget was the chambermaid of Linnet.
  • Emma Mackey as Jacqueline de Bellefort, Linnet's former friend who stole her fiancé Simon from her.
  • Sophie Okonedo as Salome Otterbourne, a magnetic American blues singer hired to perform at Linnet & Simon's wedding. Rosalie's aunt. In the book, she's a author of romance novels.
  • Jennifer Saunders as Marie Van Schuyler, a very wealthy American socialite. She travels on the boat with her nurse Miss Bowers. Described in the book as an "elderly lady with a very wrinkled face, a stiff white stock, a good many diamonds and an expression of reptilian contempt for the majority of mankind".
  • Letitia Wright as Rosalie Otterbourne, Salome's niece.
