In the novel The Seven Dials Mystery, Count Andras is a member of the Seven Dials group. He does not however play much of a role in the plot except in one scene where he is present at a meeting of the Seven Dials at which Bundle Brent managed to spy on.

It is only towards the end of the story that Superintendent Battle introduces him as No. 5 of the group. Andras is an official in the Hungarian embassy (presumably in Britain) and a dear friend of Gerald Wade. Earlier, during the meeting of the Seven Dials, he had mentioned that he is an aviator, and given his training, he could recognise that Eberhard's invention was perfectly feasible. Bundle, on hearing his voice, later thought she might be able to recognise it again. According to Bundle, No 5 had a queer way of speaking, a kind of venomous lisp that she would know if she heard it again.
