In the novel The Clocks, “Colin Lamb” is a pseudonym used by the son of one of Agatha Christie's police officers, quite likely, due to the nature of the punning last name, Superintendent Battle.
Colin is the counter-espionage agent drawn into the adventure of The Clocks.
His training includes at least a bachelor's of science degree from Cambridge in a field similar to marine biology, a field to which he intends to retire when he finally finishes his intelligence work.
