In the novel The Clocks, “Colin Lamb” is a pseudonym used by the son of one of Agatha Christie's police officers, quite likely, due to the nature of the punning last name, Superintendent Battle.
Colin is the counter-espionage agent drawn into the adventure of The Clocks.
His training includes at least a bachelor's of science degree from Cambridge in a field similar to marine biology, a field to which he intends to retire when he finally finishes his intelligence work.
In the 2009 Agatha Christie's Poirot episode The Clocks the character is renamed Colin Race and he is the son of Colonel Johnnie Race. He is portrayed by actor Tom Burke.
