In the short story Wasps' Nest, Claude Langton was one of two men in a love triangle involving John Harrison and Molly Deane. Poirot intervenes before there is a killing among them. The barebones plot of the story gives very few details about Claude.

Claude Langton was played by Peter Capaldi in the film adaptation of Wasps' Nest in Series 3 of ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot drama series. The character is considerably embellished for dramatic purposes. As in the original, he is John's best friend but here he is an avant-garde sculptor who lives in an art deco house which is also his studio.
