In the stage play Go Back for Murder, Caroline Crale was the wife of artist Amyas Crale and the mother of Carla. She was also the half sister of Angela Warren.
Caroline was put on trial for the murder of her husband. She was found guilty and the sentence was commuted to imprisonment. She died in jail three years later.
The character of Caroline Crale is a rewriting of the character Caroline Crale from the novel Five Little Pigs, from which the stage play is adapted.
