In Yokoku Satsujin, the 2019 TV Asahi Japanese adaptation of A Murder is Announced, Burui Tomekurou (武類留九郎 - Tomekurou Burui in Western format) is a retired prosecutor and the parallel of Archie Easterbrook from the original novel. Nicknamed "Buruku", he and his wife "Cherry" are friends of the residents of Komichi-no-yakata (Little Hall - "Little Paddocks").
Like in the original, "Buruku" also tells the police that they need to consider the psychology of the criminal. In this case, he says that Kurumai Kyuzo (Rudi Scherz) did not aim his shots but fired randomly (suggesting that it was part of a practical joke or that he had no target in mind). But when he saw the blood on "Reiri's" blouse, he panicked and became very frightened, and being a timid person, committed suicide.
"Buruku" is portrayed by Kunihiro Tomiyuki (国広 富之).
