In the novel Why Didn't They Ask Evans?, Bullring is a nightclub in London. As Frankie Derwent told Bobby Jones on a train from London, she had gone for a dinner and a party at the Savoy Hotel. Thereafter she went to the Marionette nightclub but found it quite boring. She then went to Bullring but this turned out turned out to be even more boring. According to Frankie, it was an experience such as this that led her to decide that even her father's country house in Wales couldn't be worse. She took a train from London and thereby met Bobby Jones whom she had not seen for a long time. What the two did thereafter forms the main plot of the book.
