In the short story The Voice in the Dark, Bimbo is the current admirer of Lady Stranleigh. He is described as 25 and extremely good-looking. He is considerably younger than Lady Stranleigh who is probably 60 but Mr Satterthwaite, who met them both at Cannes, wondered if he would be Lady Stranleigh's husband No. 5. From Lady Stranleigh's letter to her daughter Margery, it would appear that Bimbo is a tennis coach.
