Bella Hove is a non-canonical character created for LWT's 1983 TV adaptation of The Clergyman's Daughter. She and her husband Edmund Hove are lodgers at the Red House owned by Monica Deane. In the opening scene, she is shown being terrified that the light in the dining room seems to flicker, just like the ones in the bedroom the night before just before their mirror shattered. Monica explains that this is probably only because she is not used to gas lighting, which behaves like that. Bella's house in Manchester had electric lighting.
However, shortly after this there are loud sounds from their bedroom. Going up, Bella discovers that the wardrobe has been knocked over and some of her clothes had been spread out on the bed and cut.
Believing that the house is haunted by poltergeists, Bella and Edmund leave the next day.
Bella Hove is portrayed by Elspeth MacNaughton.
