Archie Stone is a non-canonical character created for ITV's 2006 adaptation of the novel The Sittaford Mystery. He is the cook at The Three Crowns hotel at Exhampton. He is not seen during the early part of the episode because Stanley Kirkwood, the proprietor of the hotel, claimed that he was down with a flu. He is portrayed by Michael Attwell.

Archie shows up later, during the events in the aftermath of the murder of Clive Trevelyan at the hotel. Towards the end of the show, it is revealed that this person is not the real Archie Stone at all. Mr Kirkwood had dismissed Archie together with all the other hotel staff the week before. The person posing as Archie turns out to be Kirkwood's cousin, Harold Wells prisoner 46329. He had escaped from Dartmoor prison and had made his way to hide out in the hotel with the help of his lover Evadne Willett. Wells had apparently been in and out of prison often. On a previous occasion when he was free, he had meet Evadne and they had fallen in love. After Wells most recent imprisonment, Evadne and Kirkwood had gotten together more than a year earlier and had purchased the Three Crowns Hotel as part of a plan to help Wells escape.

Wells and Evadne were arrested at the end of the show as they attempted to flee from the hotel in a car.
