Antoinette Marguerite Marceau is a non-canonical character created for the 2006 video game Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express, based on the novel of the same name. She is a subordinate of Monsieur Bouc, a director of La Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. At the beginning of the game, Bouc tells Antoinette that Poirot is his personal friend who will be travelling from Istanbul to Paris on the Orient Express. He assigns Antoinette to look after Poirot's every need on the train.
During the gameplay, Poirot becomes immobile because of an ankle injury. Antoinette toke on the role of an amateur investigator and undertakes the legwork for him, reporting her findings to him and receiving hints.
She is voiced by Vanessa Marshall.
Background[]
According to Antoinette's passport, she was born on 17 April 1908. She tells Poirot that she was born and grew up in the small French village of Joucas near Avignon. She went to university in England and thereafter wanted a job which would get her as far away from Joucas as possible because she wanted mystery, adventure and romance. She ended up as a clerk in the Wagons-Lits office in Istanbul. That was a job which had, no mystery, no adventure and no time for romance.
Role in the game[]
In December 1935, Antoinette was tasked by her employer M. Bouc to accompany his friend, the world-famous Belgium detective Hercule Poirot, during his journey home to London on the Orient Express from Istanbul.
