In the novel Sleeping Murder, Anstell Manor is the Northumberland home of Richard and Janet Erskine. The house is in Queen Anne style, and the Erskine family has lived there for three hundred years.
Portrayals[]
In BBC's 1987 adaptation of the novel, Cadhay House, Ottery Saint Mary was used as the filming location for Anstell Manor[1]. This house is however in Devon and is in the Tudor rather than Queen Anne style.
There is no Anstell Manor in ITV's 2006 adaptation of the novel as the backstory of the Erskines is different.
