In the short story The Fourth Man, Annette Ravel grew up at Miss Slater's orphanage in Brittany. She used to bully Felicie Bault, another girl at the orphanage.
Annette was very ambitious, and had dreams of becoming a famous dancer in Paris.
She died of consumption.
