In the stage play Go Back for Murder, Amyas Crale was the husband of Caroline Crale and the father of Carla.
Amyas was a painter, but usually didn’t paint portraits. He had done a portrait of the dancer Marna Vadaz, and they had an affair. His last painting was a portrait of Elsa Greer, a young woman who also was his mistress.
The character of Amyas Crale is a rewriting of the character Amyas Crale from the novel Five Little Pigs, from which the stage play is adapted.
