In the novel The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side, Alison Wilde was an acquaintance of Miss Marple. Miss Marple described her as "kind, healthy" and "full of life". However, she always saw her own point of view so clearly that she did not always see how things might appear to other people, or how her actions might affect others. She did not know what the world was like or what people were like, because she never considered them, and so she could not guard against things happening to her. She would talk about what she had done, seen, felt, or heard, but not what anyone else said or did.

Heather Badcock reminded Miss Marple of Alison Wilde, because she was also the kind of person who had kindness, but lack consideration for the way her actions could affect other people. She, like Alison, always thought of what an action meant to her, and not what it might mean to somebody else.
