The Christies moved to the Addison Mansions, probably around 1919 or 1920. Addison Mansions comprised two blocks of apartments on Blythe Road, Hammersmith, opposite the Olympia Exhbition Centre and is believed to have been built around 1888.[1] Agatha and Archie first rented a furnished flat on the ground floor (8 Addison Mansions[2]) for five guineas a week and moved in with nursemaid Jessie Swannell and maid Lucy. They later found another flat at 96 Addison Mansions, in the other block across the courtyard.[3]
